So, What’s the Craic?
Hello to all our DC Shifters! Can we call you that? Well, to celebrate the latest announcement from the Capital Irish Film Festival, Solas Nua have given us two pairs of tickets for another fantastic Irish film that’s playing this weekend: Whitetail. We are huge fans of Solas Nua and the film festival, which is one of the highlights on our Irish Calendar each year.
About Capital Irish Film Festival
Solas Nua's Capital Irish Film Festival presents one of the largest programs of Irish cinema in North America, showcasing the latest Irish dramatic and documentary features, shorts, art films, and animation releases by Irish and Ireland-based filmmakers. All-Access Passes are now on sale for the the four-day festival, taking place February 26 - March 1, 2026 in partnership with the prestigious American Film Institute's Silver Theatre and Cultural Center (Silver Spring, MD).
This year’s titles include the North American Premiere of the highly anticipated award-winning documentary IN TIME: DÓNAL LUNNY (Best Documentary Feature, Kerry International Film Festival) and SANATORIUM (Best Irish Documentary, Galway Film Fleadh; Student Jury Award, Kraków Film Festival). The full line-up is yet to be confirmed, but no doubt, it will be another incredible few days. You can get an all-access pass for just $149 (normally $175) if you purchase before the end of the year.
Can't wait til February for new Irish cinema? Well, Shift is offering two pairs of tickets to WHITETAIL – a film about protecting Irish woodlands from poachers while the protagonist (Natasha O'Keeffe of PEAKY BLINDERS), has an unexpected reunion with a former love – as part of the AFI's EU Film Showcase.
We’ll be picking two winners this Thursday morning.
Best of luck! 🍀
